Basket Bowl

design:

Amy Adams

manufacture:

Handmade by Perch!, Brooklyn, NY

about:

This bowl is great as a centerpiece filled with flowers, or for keeping together a collection of small objects.

Felt Pebbles

manufacture:

Handmade in Johannesburg, South Africa, as part of a job creation program that offers opportunities to local craftswomen.

about:

These intriguing “pebbles” are actually 100% felt, so they’re soft and lightweight. They’re useful as simple decorative objects (a collection of them looks great in a bowl) or when used as a pincushion, etc.

We love these products for their cheerful color, and their individuality: since they’re handmade, no two are exaclty alike. We also love that they’re made as part of a job creation program that empowers women.

A Container for One Thing

design:

Amy Adams

manufacture:

Handmade by Perch!, Brooklyn, NY

about:

Designed to be hung indoors, this container looks great holding a sprig of something green, or any number of other things you could put in it.

Cortiça Chaise Lounge

design:

Daniel Michalik, 2004

manufacture:

Handmade by Daniel Michalik, Brooklyn, NY

about:

Cortiça is a full-size chaise longue with a place for head, heels, and everything in between. Since it’s made of cork, a renewable material, it’s lightweight, naturally waterproof (and buoyant!), and impervious to rot and mold. Cortiça can be used indoors or outdoors.

The balanced form, along with the pliability of the material allows the user to rock gently from side to side or on her back with a great degree of stability. The result is a sensation of floating, weightless yet totally supported.

Georgie Table

design:

Todd Seidman, 2004

manufacture:

Handmade in Brooklyn, NY

about:

Georgie is named after its inspiration, George Nelson’s famous slat bench. This table combines interior storage with the visual lightness created by slat construction.

In addition to being made of renewable and recyclable materials, Georgie’s unique production process greatly reduces construction waste.
